Mashooq Deep Penetrating Oil

Mashooq Deep Penetrating Oil

Parched hair loves oil, especially coconut, palm, sweet almond, wheat germ and olive oil. Mashsooq Oil blends these oils with a small amount of sunflower oil to create this deep penetrating hair oil. It’s a perfect combination to nourish and tame dry hair.

The oil, full of vitamins and minerals to nourish and protect the hair, penetrates deep into the hair to create a protective and nurturing layer.

Because of the special blend, the oil stays in the hair for longer than other hair oils. The oil is 100% natural and is not tested on animals.

Mashooq is totally compatible with all types of hair and can be used for daily maintenance to leave hair soft and shiny. It can also be used for conditioning the hair prior to treatments such as perming, bleaching, colouring and highlighting.

HOW TO USE

Use as a soak for 10-20 minutes before shampooing to rejuvenate and strengthen hair and add shine. Wrap the oiled hair in a hot towel or cover with a shower cap while soaking in the bath. Use sparingly – too much will be hard to shampoo out.

For regular maintenance apply a little oil to damp hair before styling or after drying to help maintain the style.

MASHOOQ PRODUCTS

The Mashooq range of hair and skin products was created by renowned hair consultant, Claudette Giovanni, who drew upon traditions she witnessed as a child in Jamaica. Growing up Claudette saw the women around her using plants growing around them to create hair and beauty products which were totally natural.

REVIEW

I don’t have time during the week to wait 10-20 minutes for the oil to work its magic before washing my hair – I think we’re all in rush during the working week. So, I applied just a little, then a lot more (oops!) because my hair was drinking it up, to my dry hair at night and slept on a towel on my pillowcase.

The oil is slippery, of course, and my sensitive nose can detect the light scent of wheat germ oil, but it’s certainly not a strong smell. My hands weren’t half as greasy as they would be from just using coconut oil.

I obviously used far too much, because, as warned, it took a good few shampoos to rinse it out properly – no conditioner needed! The result though, was worth it. I was worried it would make my hair look lank (been there), but it was very soft and shiny.

I’ve used it a few times since – and on others, and each time I’ve had to keep reducing the amount applied. This is very concentrated and because of this and the cost of buying the oils separately, (with each serving a particular hair care need), I’m categorising this hair oil as a reliable budget buy.

I also applied the tiniest amount and I’m talking about tapping the empty lid onto the palm of my hand – that’s how little you need, onto the mid lengths of my just washed hair to bring out the highlights. On dark (especially straight) hair, as expected, it imparts a mirror sheen.

To get the greatest benefit out of this oil, it should be used once a week with the Home Steam Treatment to deeply condition hair.
